How To Get Coffee Hair Treatment At Home

Coffee, without a doubt, is one of the most popular beverages consumed by people across the world. It contains high levels of antioxidants as well as nutrients that are beneficial for the human body. It is considered a healthy drink as it can lower the risks of several serious diseases. Coffee can also give you the energy you need to start your day. Aside from that, research reveals that you can stimulate hair growth, increase the shine of your hair, and add more depth to them. However, you won’t get the benefits for your hair by just drinking a cup of coffee. You will have to apply it directly to your hair as well. There are several ways to get coffee hair treatment at home. The methods can vary. The first method is as follows.

1 – Coffee Rinse Your Hair

Take two scoops of coffee beans and 178 ml of water to make a regular cup of coffee. You can add one to two tablespoons of coffee grounds to make the cup stronger. As the coffee gets stronger, the brew gets darker. If you have gray hair and want to darken your hair color, you can soak your hair with coffee. If you have light red or blonde hair, you may like to treat your hair differently by applying coffee. First, shampoo your hair and then rinse well. Don’t forget to squeeze out excess water to leave your hair moderately dry.

Start from the Roots

Now, start pouring cold coffee from the roots to the tip of your hair. If you want a thorough treatment, use a large bowl or even a bucket to collect the droppings while you pour the coffee through your hair so you pour them through again. For a controlled application, pour the coffee into a spray bottle and spray it all over your hair. To prevent your shower floor or the bathtub from being stained, you can collect the coffee droppings in a bucket.

Put a Shower Cap Over Your Hair

Pull your hair together and cover it with a shower cap and wait for 20 minutes to an hour. If there is no old shower cap with you, use an old towel instead to wrap your hair. The staining effect of coffee can damage fabrics, so use a towel that you won’t use later on. Leaving the coffee on your hair for a longer time will make it darker.

Rinse Your Hair

After an hour or so, rinse your hair thoroughly with warm water and let your hair dry. If you repeat the treatment time and again, your hair will become shinier and darker. It will also minimize hair fall and boost hair growth. Below is the second method.

2 – Give Your Hair A Coffee Grounds Treatment

Take around 35 g of coffee grounds and brew a pot of coffee. Take several coffee grounds, as many as you think will be appropriate as they will add a darker shade to your hair. Therefore, if your hair is light-colored, you can avail other ways to add glow to your hair. When you are filtering your coffee, make sure the coffee grounds don’t go down the drain as that can damage your plumbing system. To prevent that, you can cover the drain with a cheesecloth. After you complete your treatment, throw the cloth in the trash.

Massage Gently

Now gently massage your wet hair with the cooled coffee grounds. Slowly rub the coffee grounds onto the scalp and apply them on the longer locks. The roughness of the grounds will help you exfoliate your scalp. Consequently, the hair follicles will get stimulated, promoting hair growth in the process. A coffee scrub can be a good addition to your daily grooming regimen. The best way is to dry out the coffee grounds and add them to your hair oil, shampoo, or conditioner.

Rinse Your Hair Again

After you are done with the massaging part, slowly rinse your hair to wash out the coffee grounds. They would leave your hair soft, shiny, and of course, healthy. If you use this method regularly, your hair will start growing faster than usual. Coffee contains caffeine that prevents hair loss.

Try to use coffee grounds for your hair at least once every week. Make it a point that the water doesn’t drip from your hair to your clothes. The color of coffee can damage them. So, always cover your shoulders with a towel or an old T-shirt.

Caffeine is beneficial for your hair and follicles. Coffee is a little acidic and helps in smoothening the cuticles. Plus, it adds shine to your hair. Hence, do try these methods out and share your experience in the comments below.
