This Is How You Can Feel More Grateful Every Day And Be Happier As A Whole!

Do you ever notice the small things in your life? The ones that don’t seem to matter at first glance? Well, it’s time that you do. It has been found that you can be happier when you start being thankful for every small thing in your life. Even when everything goes fine for us, we often complain about trivial things, not realizing that cribbing about it might create negative emotions in our minds. Hence, people who are eternally grateful have a greater chance of happiness than others. Being thankful helps us attain a sense of fulfillment and thus have inner peace. It has been found that being grateful can also help us have a better heart rate, while stress causes it to be erratic. But how can we bring about the feeling of gratitude in our everyday life? Here are a few ways that might help:

Be Generous With Your Thank You’s

This is the easiest and most simple way perhaps. Be more verbal about the things that you are really thankful for, and never miss a chance when you can show your gratitude. When you feel the other person feeling good about it, it will make you feel even nicer. Apart from saying thank you to people whom you are meeting every day, don’t forget to take out the time to thank your family members as well your friends who are always beside you. Explain to them why you are thankful and what they mean to you. That will surely make their day!

Write Down The Things That You Are Grateful For

Just writing down the small things in life that you are grateful for might make you realize how much you would miss them if they were not there. It will make you realize their true worth of having them in your life. Whether it is a place, a person, a thing, or a moment, just jot it down in your journal. It doesn’t have to be a lengthy entry — just a few lines will suffice. It makes these things immortal and gives your brain the message that there so many things to be grateful about in life.

Use Positive Words

This might take a bit of time, but with practice, it is achievable. Sometimes, we keep saying unpleasant things about people, incidents, or life in general. If we keep criticizing others, spread gossips, or badmouth people whom we don’t like, it will stop us from seeing all the good things that are happening all around us. Start by learning to use positive words and emotions only while talking. This will help your brain focus on what’s good, promoting feelings of happiness and satisfaction. Start this exercise with yourself. Look at yourself in the mirror every morning and say good things about yourself and how you can achieve all your dreams and goals. This will definitely make a big difference in the long run.

Do Volunteer Work

When you start working with charitable organizations with people who are less privileged, it is easy to see how lucky you are to have all that you already own. It will help you see reality more clearly, and when we help others, it kindles a spirituality in ourselves, too. Aside from helping less privileged people, you can also offer your services to an animal shelter, an orphanage, a place for senior citizens – anywhere where you can be helpful.

Stop Comparing Yourself

This is another way we make ourselves feel less or inferior to others when we are not. We all are different people with different needs and wants. But with the onset of social media and the endless magazines showing us the perfect picture of bodies, houses, or lives, it is hard not to wonder how we are doing compared to all those people. Various social media platforms are probably the most toxic places for people who tend to compare themselves heavily. However, if you can channel your energy in finding out how magnificent your life is, you would not feel the urge to compare anymore.

Finally, spending time with yourself and contemplating what you have been doing throughout the day also helps you to be thankful for the small things that happened in your life. You need to be extremely modest to understand that not everyone can be in your shoes, so you need to be grateful. When you open your eyes in the morning, just thank your god that you are alive and about to begin a new day. That intent itself will you keep going for the rest of the day.
