Here’s How You Can Make Your Teeth Whiter Right at Home
There may be multiple factors that can cause teeth to lose their whiteness and their sparkle. Certain foods can even harm the outermost layer of your teeth. Also, the plaque buildup on your teeth can turn your teeth yellow.
However, you can do away with the yellowing of teeth. You can try various techniques such as cleaning and whitening remedies that add sparkle to your toothy smile. You can try natural methods, such as oil pulling and removing the toxins from your mouth, and keep it shining.
More Brushing and Flossing
While you can expect some teeth discoloration as you age, however, plaque buildup is one of the number one causes for making your teeth turn yellow. Regular taking care of your teeth using regular DIY tips and tricks can best the signs of teeth aging, say brushing and flossing. We often forget the art of brushing as we grow up and become busy with our everyday life. Giving our teeth the time it deserves is the last thing on our minds.
Oil Pulling
Oil pulling is a traditional Indian folk that can improve oral hygiene and removes bacteria from the mouth, making your teeth yellowish. The Ayurveda-endorsed practice is pretty simple as it involves swishing the oil in your mouth to get rid of the bacteria, which causes plaque.
Usually, you use cold-pressed sesame oil, which works the best, and of course, coconut oil is also another option that works as great. Many people prefer coconut oil because of its taste and its numerous health benefits. The rich lauric acid content helps kill the bacteria accumulating in your mouth and causing bad breath.
You can try this hack every day to remove plaque and treat gingivitis. Swish a tablespoon of coconut oil in your mouth and swish it around your mouth. Swish it for 15-20 minutes and spit it out. Ensure you do not swallow the oil and spit out the oil in your trash. It is a pretty safe procedure as the products you use are all-natural and do not have any harmful side effects.
Brushing With Baking Soda
Baking soda is another miracle kitchen ingredient that promises white sparkling teeth. Baking soda often finds its way into commercial toothpaste too. The mild abrasive action of the baking soda helps scrub away the stains to make it clean and white. Baking soda also has powerful cleansing properties because of its alkaline nature.
However, you have to be patient with all these procedures as results don’t show up overnight. You need discipline and patience in equal measure to get the best out of it. Mix 1 teaspoon of baking soda with 2 teaspoons of water, and continue to brush your teeth with the paste at least a few times per week to see any visible results.
Eat More Fruits and Vegetables
Your diet has got much to do with the way your teeth look. Fruits and veggies are excellent for your teeth, and they are just not good for your teeth but your overall health.
As you crunch on fruits and veggies, you keep rubbing away the plaque on your teeth. Two of the best fruits that can work great on your teeth are pineapple and strawberries.
You can blend strawberries with a baking soda mixture, and this is a celebrity-endorsed remedy you can totally try. It is the malic acid content of the strawberries that works wonders for your teeth, getting rid of the stains and making them look white and fresh. Ensure that you use strawberry, baking soda, and other products in moderation. This is because excessive use of any product can affect the tooth enamel.
However, you can change things up and spend adequate time on your teeth every morning and every night. This will help get rid of the bacteria regularly. Change brushes, too, at regular intervals. Gently rub the stains out of your teeth with the circular motion of your brush and remove the plaque that threatens to rob away the whiteness of your teeth. Also, it is important to get your teeth checked regularly at a dental clinic. Don’t postpone regular cleanups at the clinic. They are one way of keeping your teeth clean and healthy for years to come.
