There is a huge difference between sadness and acute depression. In our everyday life, things always do not go well for us, leading us to harbor feelings of frustration, self-pity, and melancholy, but these negative feelings will eventually pass. However, if these continue for two weeks or more and come with some other unusual changes in your lifestyle, there might be a chance that you are suffering from depression. Both eating or shopping impulsively can be a clear indicator of your mental health, though experts believe that behaving impulsively might not be the most common symptom of depression. But if the other signs are there, then the impulsive behavior might indicate more than just something to make you feel good. When we are impulsive, it helps us find a fast resolution for our depression and can sometimes help us hide it, too. It also helps us feel great right away which takes away some of the sensations of being depressed.

Experiencing Strange Aches And Pains

Unexplained physical pain is another symptom of depression. Doctors say that pain is often caused by abnormal brain function. However, these aches and pains make it even more difficult for the doctor to diagnose the problem. It is likely that the doctors would start looking for physical issues that might be causing the pain instead of thinking about mental health. Some also opine that the pain happens because of repressed emotions that afflict our brain.

Difficulty In Concentrating Or Relaxing

When suffering from clinical depression, patients find it extremely difficult to concentrate on one thing. Usually, negative thoughts hinder their ability to focus and relax. Physicians often mistake it as signs of ADHD. Any downtime makes them terribly anxious as they end up having extreme negative thoughts that leave them more restless than before.
